Keeping people safe in the mountains through intelligent, personalized guidance.
Generic trail apps don't account for individual skill levels. Static recommendations ignore your physiological readiness. And when you're at 14,000 feet with "mountain brain," the last thing you need is a confusing interface.
Trailhunter is a mobile-first AI personal assistant for mountaineers. We combine Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Apple HealthKit integration, and an OODA loop decision framework to deliver personalized, safety-first guidance.
The core innovation: biomechanically-informed, tier-based guidance that adapts to your performance over time. Not just trail recommendations — a system that learns how you climb and adjusts accordingly.
Every recommendation follows the Observe → Orient → Decide → Act framework:
Trailhunter is not a certified mountain guide. It's an AI tool that provides guidance — the mountain is always the final authority. Our safety principles:
Trailhunter is built by Rocky Mountain Madness LLC — a small team of climbers and engineers based in Colorado who believe technology should make the mountains safer, not more dangerous.
We're launching with Colorado's 14ers and 13ers in Summer 2026, with plans to expand to all US state high points and international peaks. Future features include computer vision route analysis, predictive fatigue modeling, AR wayfinding, and an Apple Watch companion app.
