Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk

By participating in any Rocky Mountain Madness group hike, event, or activity, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk

Mountain hiking, scrambling, and climbing are inherently dangerous activities that involve risks including but not limited to: falls, rockfall, lightning strikes, altitude sickness, hypothermia, dehydration, wildlife encounters, equipment failure, and getting lost. These risks can result in serious injury or death.

Voluntary Participation

Your participation in Rocky Mountain Madness events is entirely voluntary. You are responsible for assessing your own fitness level, experience, and preparedness for each activity. The organizers are volunteers, not professional guides.

Release of Liability

You release Rocky Mountain Madness LLC, its organizers, leaders, and fellow participants from any and all liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage arising from your participation in group activities.

Your Responsibilities

• Research every trip before attending — understand the distance, elevation gain, difficulty class, and conditions
• Carry the Ten Essentials on every hike
• Know your limits and be willing to turn back
• Inform the leader of any medical conditions
• Bring appropriate gear for the conditions
• Follow the leader's instructions regarding safety
